Server address

One address for every app

Add it as a remote MCP server (some apps call it a custom connector). The app handles the rest.

https://api.kwscanner.com/mcp
  1. 01

    Paste the address

    Add it in your AI app as a remote MCP server or custom connector. Setup for each app is below.

  2. 02

    Sign in and click Allow

    Your browser opens KWScanner. Sign in, check the name of the app that is asking, and choose Allow. There is no API key to create, copy or store.

  3. 03

    Ask for keywords

    The assistant now sees the keyword tools and uses them when a question needs real numbers. You can disconnect the app from your dashboard at any time.

Claude (desktop and web)

Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the address and approve. There is a longer guide to using Claude for SEO, with prompts and a keyword research skill.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http kwscanner https://api.kwscanner.com/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose kwscanner to sign in.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project, then approve the sign-in when Cursor asks:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "kwscanner": {
      "url": "https://api.kwscanner.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Other MCP apps

Any app that supports remote (streamable HTTP) MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can connect with the same address. Apps that only accept a pasted key are not needed here: there is no key.

Connecting an AI assistant is open to accounts that have bought at least $10 of credits in total. That is a one-time threshold, not a fee: the credits are yours to spend on lookups and never expire. See pricing.

Tools

What the server gives an assistant

The server describes these to the app itself. Three of the five are free.

ToolWhat the assistant getsCost
get_keyword_metricsMonthly search volume, cost per click, competition and a 12-month trend for up to 200 keywords in one call.1 credit per keyword
get_related_keywordsUp to 50 keyword ideas for a seed term, highest volume first, each with volume, CPC and competition.10 credits per lookup
get_keyword_historyDated monthly volumes for keywords you have already looked up, for seasonality.Free
estimate_costWhat a batch would cost and whether your balance covers it, before anything is charged.Free
get_account_usageYour credit balance and what is left of today's limits.Free

Every figure is per country: worldwide, or the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand or South Africa. A keyword that cannot be looked up at that moment comes back marked unavailable and is not charged.

Why this one

What makes it different from other SEO MCP servers

No API key to manage

Many MCP servers want a key pasted into a config file. This one signs you in through the browser, so nothing secret sits in your project or your dotfiles.

No subscription behind it

The server is not an add-on to a monthly SEO suite. You pay one credit per keyword from a balance that never expires, starting at $5.

Built for batches

Up to 200 keywords per call and up to 50 ideas per seed, so an assistant can size a whole topic in one step instead of dozens.

Costs it can check first

A free tool tells the assistant what a batch will cost and whether your balance covers it, so it can ask before it spends.

Small enough to choose well

Five clearly named tools. An assistant with a short, unambiguous tool list picks the right one more reliably than one handed fifty.

The same data everywhere

The assistant, the browser extension on Google results and the bulk research dashboard share one account and one credit balance.

Use cases

What people do with it

Keyword research in a chat

Describe a topic and a country. The assistant expands it into related keywords, looks up the numbers and returns a table with a recommended primary keyword, instead of a list of unsized ideas.

Content planning inside a codebase

In Claude Code or Cursor, the assistant can read the pages in a content folder, work out what each one targets, check that there is search demand and flag the ones worth retargeting.

Checking a brief before it ships

Paste a draft outline and ask whether the headings match what people search for. The assistant looks up each candidate phrase and suggests swaps where a close variant has far more volume.

Sizing paid search

Cost per click and competition come back with every keyword, so the same connection works for estimating what an ad group would cost before anyone opens an ads account.

Pricing

Affordable, pay-as-you-go pricing

One credit covers one keyword, however you look it up. No subscription, and credits never expire.

New accounts get 2× credits on their first purchase

Buy any amount from 10,000 credits up. The volume tier is applied automatically. Connecting an AI assistant is open to accounts that have bought at least $10 of credits in total. That is a one-time threshold, not a fee: the credits are yours to spend on lookups and never expire.

FAQ

SEO MCP server - FAQ

What is an SEO MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way AI assistants connect to outside tools. An SEO MCP server gives an assistant SEO data it does not have on its own. This one covers keyword research: search volume, cost per click, competition, trends and related keyword ideas.
Which apps does the KWScanner MCP server work with?
Any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in. That includes Claude, Claude Code and Cursor, and the same address works in each. The app opens KWScanner in your browser so you can approve the connection.
Do I need an API key?
No. You paste one address into the app, sign in to KWScanner in the browser and click Allow. The app receives its own access, which you can remove from your dashboard whenever you like.
How much does it cost?
One credit per keyword and ten credits per related-keywords lookup, with credits from $5 for 10,000. Estimating a cost, reading keyword history and checking your balance are free. There is no subscription and credits never expire. Connecting an AI assistant is open to accounts that have bought at least $10 of credits in total. That is a one-time threshold, not a fee: the credits are yours to spend on lookups and never expire.
What data does it return?
For each keyword: average monthly search volume, cost per click in US dollars, a competition score from 0 to 1 and the last 12 months of volume. For a seed term: up to 50 related keywords with the same figures.
Which countries can I look up?
Worldwide totals, or the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.
Is it safe to connect an AI assistant to my account?
A connected app can run keyword lookups and work with your keyword lists. It cannot buy credits, see payment details or change account settings. Your account's daily limits apply, and disconnecting an app takes effect immediately.
Can I use it in an automated workflow?
Yes, in any agent or tool that speaks MCP over HTTP and can complete the sign-in. Batch keywords into one call rather than one call per keyword: it is faster and it is what the per-minute limits expect.
